Recycled Glass Doubloons
Handcrafted from recycled New Orleans glass
Introduced in 2024, Krewe of Krampus Recycled Glass Doubloons are a new kind of Mardi Gras throw. Beautiful, sustainable, and meant to be treasured. Each year, we turn locally recycled glass into a limited-edition design that tells the story of that season’s parade.
For Krampus NOLAuf 2025, our featured design is “Edelweiss,” honoring the Alpine flower’s symbolism of resistance, resilience, and steadfastness in the face of harsh conditions.

2025 Limited Edition: The Edelweiss Glass Doubloon

For 2025, the Krewe of Krampus honors the Edelweiss, the Alpine flower known for thriving in the harshest conditions. Our limited-edition Edelweiss Glass Doubloon captures that spirit. Handcrafted from locally recycled glass and designed to reflect resilience, commitment, and creativity.
This year’s design blends Alpine folklore with New Orleans artistry, continuing our tradition of producing sustainable throws that people want to keep.

2025 – “Edelweiss”
A symbol of resilience and steadfastness
Inspired by the Alpine Edelweiss flower, this year’s design represents resistance, resilience, and steadfastness. Crafted from recycled New Orleans glass, it continues the tradition of meaningful, sustainable throws for Krampus NOLAuf.

2024 – “Krampus”
The first handcrafted recycled-glass doubloon
The original design that launched the entire project. Introduced in 2024, this was the first recycled glass doubloon ever created for Krewe of Krampus, symbolizing our commitment to creativity, sustainability, and a better future for parade culture.
About the Artist Behind the Glass Doubloons

The recycled glass doubloon series is created by Krewe of Krampus co-founder and Captain Michael Esordi, who designs and handcrafts each piece using locally recycled glass. Michael launched Art of the Parade to help other krewes adopt sustainable throws and reduce plastic waste in Mardi Gras traditions.
